As always I enjoyed going to J I Baldwin & Son. The food is good and fresh. I ordered two barbecue sandwich. One sandwich will make two. If you haven't tried their food, please do so.

Not all that great. Their “thick sauce” tastes like bbq sauce and ketchup mixed. Their original sauce is extremely salty and very runny. Portions are small. Food is only okay. Nothing special. Staff was very nice and friendly.

I don't understand how people can consider this good food. The barbecue pork was as if they took overcooked dry meat and shredded it in a blender. The chicken tenders are a joke, looked like they were frozen and reheated in an oven. The broasted chicken was also overcooked and had barely any meat on it. The beans taste like they're straight out of the can, and the potato wedges are also overcooked and dry. And on top of all that it is quite expensive for the amount of food you get.

The BBQ is good without sauce but would be amazing if they had a good thick sweet, smoky sauce. I bet the lack of amazing sauce deters a lot of people from eating here. I thought their thick sauce tasted like seasoned ketchup and so did the people with me. Their ribs are some of the best I've had (I refuse to eat generic ribs at chain restaurants). I'll be getting my dinner to go so I can put some good sauce on it.

Some of my favorite bbq in the Nashville area! Haven’t found anything in the city as good as this barbecue.
